Bridget joined LEAD International in June 2008 undertaking a variety of tasks in support of cohort training, including designing and supporting the LEAD Fellows online community, as well as other initiatives of LEAD International.
A native New Yorker, Bridget moved to the UK in September 2007 to undertake a Masters at the London School of Economics and Political Science for an MSc in Gender, Development, and Globalisation. She holds dual Irish and American citizenship. Prior to her position at LEAD, she worked in a number of positions with various organizations including: the Young Survival Coalition, coordinating resources for young women suffering from breast cancer; the Eleanor Roosevelt Centre at Val-Kill, administrating their Young Girl’s Leadership Workshop; and UK Parliament, as Research Assistant to Labour MP William Olner. Bridget is also a certified youth trainer under the Youth in Action Programme of the European Union. With a B.A. in Political Science from Marist College in New York, Bridget also volunteered for a number of community development charities throughout university.
Besides sustainable development and human rights she has a passion for music, both singing and playing the harp since childhood. She is a member of a group called “The Strings of Tara” which released their first album in 2007. She believes that her love of music and its transcending power was the foundation to shaping her passion for building a more connected, sustainable, and equal world!
