Introduction to the Partner

The national network UPJ combines 24 regional and local intermediary organisations and more than 60 companies in order to promote Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Social Responsibility in Germany. The Network aims at fostering long-term co-operation between businesses, community organisations and governments to contribute towards sustainable development of society.

For over ten years, the network has documented, analysed and initiated approximately 600 partnerships involving small, medium and large enterprises. The network combines the experience and knowledge of its members in order to further promote Corporate Citizenship and CSR within Germany’s business world. UPJ demonstrates new ways of community investment, supports the development of collaborative projects and the search for suitable partners, and facilitates initial contact as well as the first steps in implementing a partnership.

Propelled by UPJ small and medium-sized as well as large firms founded the first German Corporate Citizenship Business Network in 2003 under the motto Business: Active in the Community. The companies combined in this Network, such as BMW Group, E.ON Energie, Intel, Telefónica O2 Germany or Veolia Water, want to actively contribute to the community and are seeking the exchange with other companies in order to achieve this goal. Furthermore, they want to support the successful development of their own businesses through Corporate Citizenship and CSR.

UPJ is a registered charity.

We have a deep passion for seeing really dynamic effective corporate responsibility all over the world - it's core to our values and central to our business. So being in from the start with CSR360 GPN was an obvious route for KPMG to help spread the energy and the opportunity for transformed communities where business plays its rightful role driving change and supporting the people and the places who are often forgotten and frequently in need of business engagement. Its our privilege to be involved.
