The Little People have over 200 active volunteers working on many projects in Cluj Napoca and Bucharest. Working with hundreds of volunteers over the years they have shown that consistent training is needed on a regular basis to help support volunteers in their activities. To this end, they provide weekly workshops addressing the needs and mindsets required to be effective within the community and the specific healthcare situations where they are involved in intervention programs. One such project that The Little People have been doing for over 12 years has been focusing on providing daily patient support programs for children and young adults while being treated for cancer. The Little people train volunteers to provide daily care in three cancer wards in Romania, two wards in Cluj and one in Bucharest.
Their team of 70 volunteers come from student, professional and business circles. This project is having a massive impact on the national development of cancer care for children in Romania.
As a part of the learning journey for Cohort 14 & 15 associates, LEAD India completed its 2nd National Training Session of its ongoing flagship Cohort Program in Leh, Ladakh during 16-23 September.
