The Conference Board of Canada

Introduction to the Partner

The Conference Board of Canada is the foremost independent, not-for-profit applied research organization in Canada. The Conference Board was founded in 1954. For over 62 years, it has provided analysis of public policy trends and issues, research and forecasts on economic and social development, research and expertise on innovation, R&D and commercialization, and networks for consulting with employers, policymakers and other stakeholders.

The Conference Board has a long history of engagement dialogue, research and convening with regard to CSR. Some highlights from our recent initiatives include:

National Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Summits: these major two-day events held in 2014 and 2016 bring together leading corporate responsibility professionals from across Canada and around the world to explore emerging issues in corporate responsibility and sustainability

Executive Networks: The Conference Board manages two national, executive networks focused on issues relating to CSR:

  • Business Council for Sustainability – a network of senior business executives responsible for environmental management and sustainability issues in medium-sized and large Canadian organizations
  • Corporate Community Investment Council – a network of professionals with responsibility for community investment programs within their organizations
The Conference Board is also building a major new initiative to accelerate corporate responsibility and sustainability in Canada: The Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Institute.

We have a deep passion for seeing really dynamic effective corporate responsibility all over the world - it's core to our values and central to our business. So being in from the start with CSR360 GPN was an obvious route for KPMG to help spread the energy and the opportunity for transformed communities where business plays its rightful role driving change and supporting the people and the places who are often forgotten and frequently in need of business engagement. Its our privilege to be involved.
