Maala–Business for Social Responsibility is Israel’s leading advocate on corporate values and citizenship
Founded in 1998, Maala is a non-profit membership organisation whose creation was inspired by the US-based Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) and a growing network of leading corporate citizenship organisations around the world, with which it is affiliated. Maala serves as an advocate, consultant, educator and facilitator, encouraging corporations to identify opportunities for community involvement, promoting environmentally sound practices, social accountability and reporting.
With membership exceeds 100 companies, representing Israel’s leading companies Maala aspires to be the leading professional resource assisting Israeli businesses in developing and implementing a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that contributes both to the companies’ success and to the enrichment of Israeli society.
Maala’s Corporate Social Responsibility Index, Israel’s first-ever ranking of companies based on corporate citizenship performance, was published for the first time in 2002. As of 2005 the Maala Index is listed and traded on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange. Maala’s ranking laid the ground for the introduction of Socially-Responsible Investments (SRI) in Israel.
As a part of the learning journey for Cohort 14 & 15 associates, LEAD India completed its 2nd National Training Session of its ongoing flagship Cohort Program in Leh, Ladakh during 16-23 September.
