Introduction to the Partner

Japan NPO Center (JNPOC) was established in November 1996 for the purpose of strengthening the infrastructure of nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in Japan, and was officially incorporated in June 1998. JNPOC aims to support civic activities of Japanese civil society and the growth of its nonprofit sector. It also aims to establish effective partnerships between the nonprofit sector and the government as well as the private sector.

JNPOC is engaged in collecting and disseminating information in regards to NPOs and in supporting the ICT/public relations of NPOs. It is active in conducting forums, conferences, and training to encourage informational exchange, with particular emphasis on inter-sector collaboration. JNPOC also has a rich consulting experience for enterprises, which has developed into many collaborative programs. JNPOC has conducted research of Japanese NPOs and is active in policy advocacy. Since 2011, JNPOC has been working to promote citizen-led support for Disaster Relief for East Japan and has established multiple disaster relief funds in partnership with major enterprises.

JNPOC has an open network with local NPO support centers across Japan and with 50+ major corporations through their corporate membership as well as Japan Business Federation. As of March 2015, JNPOC has 674 members with 177 associate members. JNPOC also has collaborative relationships with US-based non-profits.

We have a deep passion for seeing really dynamic effective corporate responsibility all over the world - it's core to our values and central to our business. So being in from the start with CSR360 GPN was an obvious route for KPMG to help spread the energy and the opportunity for transformed communities where business plays its rightful role driving change and supporting the people and the places who are often forgotten and frequently in need of business engagement. Its our privilege to be involved.
