Centre for Responsible Business, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Introduction to the Partner

Formed in 2004, the Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) (formerly known as the Dubai Ethics Resource Centre) is the longest standing centre for promoting business responsibility in the United Arab Emirates. CRB assists members of the Dubai Chamber to apply responsible business practices that enhance performance and competitive advantage through:

  • Raising awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in business and with consumers;
  • Encouraging businesses to implement best practice standards;
  • Providing direct advice and tools to businesses to improve their CSR performance; and
  • Measuring and documenting the awareness and the implementation of responsible business practices in Dubai.

CRB’s programs are designed for the business community to share CSR experiences, build collaboration and networks, facilitate learning and improve capacity to improve CSR practice in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. The Dubai Chamber recognises CSR leaders in the Emirates with the Mohamned Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Corporate Social Responsibility Award.

CRB is a member of the CSR360 Global Partners Network convened by Business in the Community and is an Organizational Stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). CRB organised the well attended United Arab Emirates Business Delegation to the Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency and organises GRI workshops and networking events in Dubai.

Testimonial

We have a deep passion for seeing really dynamic effective corporate responsibility all over the world - it's core to our values and central to our business. So being in from the start with CSR360 GPN was an obvious route for KPMG to help spread the energy and the opportunity for transformed communities where business plays its rightful role driving change and supporting the people and the places who are often forgotten and frequently in need of business engagement. Its our privilege to be involved.
