Business Council for Africa

Introduction to the Partner

Established for almost 60 years, BCA supports over 400 companies and entrepreneurs operating across the continent.

Their membership grants access to roundtable briefings, targeted networking events and on-the-ground assistance through their African network.

Africa’s dynamic economies are attracting attention on a global scale. The BCA works with its members to promote business opportunities and facilitate sustainable investment across the continent. BCA UK brings together the Regional Associations – the Business Council for Africa (BCA) and the Eastern Africa Association (EAA) – giving them a voice in Europe, at no additional cost.

  • Gives automatic membership of the European Business Council for Africa & the Mediterranean (EBCAM), of which it was a founder member, to all members of the Regional Associations.
  • Enables member companies to obtain advice from EBCAM’S representative in Brussels on accessing EU institutions and mechanisms.
  • Prepares and presents discussion papers to the British government, the European Commission and other relevant organisations.
  • Takes action on behalf of the Regional Associations, where this can be more effective than if they acted on their own.
  • Organises joint meetings of the Regional Associations and with other relevant organisations, providing a pan-African perspective.
  • Provides relevant political and economic information, networking opportunities and practical advice.

Through its parent organisations BCA UK reflects the views of over 500 companies with interests in Africa, most of which are based in or have links with the UK. There is no separate membership of BCA UK.

We have a deep passion for seeing really dynamic effective corporate responsibility all over the world - it's core to our values and central to our business. So being in from the start with CSR360 GPN was an obvious route for KPMG to help spread the energy and the opportunity for transformed communities where business plays its rightful role driving change and supporting the people and the places who are often forgotten and frequently in need of business engagement. Its our privilege to be involved.

Lord Michael Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE
Global Head of Citizenship and Diversity
