UNISDR and Fundahrse, Honduras hold workshop with international speakers on Disaster Risk Reduction

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) within the framework of the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE) provided technical support through a workshop focused on raising awareness of methodologies and techniques to safeguard the production processes, ensure the continuity of operations and reduce the risk of human and material losses in private companies before natural threats.

The workshop took place at the University of San Pedro Sula (USAP) on March 20th, 2018. The participants were professionals responsible for risk management in the companies, people related to occupational safety, environment, operations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Fundahrse, focal point of ARISE in Honduras, were delighted that Henry Peralta Buriticá from Colombia, international speaker, civil engineer and Master in Education, trainer of the Global Institute of Education and Training (GETI), Founder and General Manager of Empresa Soluciones Resilientes. He is also a lecturer, university professor and international consultant in risk management and territorial resilience.

In addition, Fundahrse invited Marianela Guzman, from Panama, an architect with a master’s degree in Sustainable Business Administration, and an Advisor of Public-Private Partnerships of UNISDR-Las AmĂ©ricas. Representatives of the Coordination Center for the Prevention of Natural Disasters in Central America (CEPREDENAC) also participated in the workshop.

Fundahrse also planned a talk on Leadership and Business Resilience on March 19th, at the USAP university which was given to the students of ranging from Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering and Logistics, Tourism, Architecture, Agronomy and the Ethics and CSR class.
