respACT – Austria’s leading platform for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development is pleased to announce a strong increase in new memberships.
With the recent accession of Océ-Austria GmbH to the platform, respACT now supports 200 local companies in implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Compared to 2007, the number of respACT member companies has been doubled. This growth shows that more and more Austrian companies recognize the advantages of responsible management.
“It is a particular concern of respACT to establish CSR as a corporate strategy that is supported by the executive management”
explains Peter J. Oswald, CEO of Mondi Europe & International and President of respACT. “As President of respACT, I am very glad to promote CSR and sustainable development together with so many dedicated companies in Austria.”
The benefits of Corporate Social Responsibility range from enhanced dedication among employees and customer retention to active risk management and an increased potential for innovation and competitive advantage. respACT’s goal is to support local companies of all sizes and industries on their way to sustainability.
“To this end, we offer regular information from an international and national level, we facilitate exchange and networking opportunities or our members and through our working groups, we support competency development.”
points out respACT’s executive director, Daniela Knieling.
respACT emerged in October 2007 from the fusion of the Austrian Business council for Sustainable Development (ABCSD) and respACT austria. “respACT” stands for “responsible action” and describes companies’ aspired socially responsible action.
Austria’s leading platform for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development currently supports 200 member companies in their strategic and holistic implementation of CSR.
