Launch of the LARRGE Guide

Posted: Monday 19 July 10, 2.47pm GMT

The Labour-Rights-Responsibilities-Guide (LARRGE) a brand new manual, designed to help users navigate through the jungle of corporate social responsibility (CSR) tools, has been launched.

The LARRGE Guide (www.larrge.eu ) on human and labour rights-based CSR tools helps companies and practitioners identify those resources that best fit their needs. These include human rights impact and risk assessments, self-assessments, toolkits, guidelines, training materials and codes of conduct. The LARRGE Guide provides an overview of 60 excellent CSR tools currently used on the European and global levels. LARRGE users benefit from feedback on the tools provided by companies and other practitioners. Likewise, they can contribute their own expertise and promote dialogue through a commenting feature. LARRGE also offers recommendations for entrepreneurs, tool developers as well as for future EU policy directions.

LARRGE is the product of an eighteen month research project, conducted by an international human rights research team under the management of the Vienna based Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM), together with the Danish Institute for Human Rights and the Centre for the Study of Global Ethics (University of Birmingham). The Network Social Responsibility, the Austrian Chamber of Labour as well as the Human Rights Consulting Vienna participated in a supporting role. The project was funded by the European Commission’s PROGRESS Programme, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth.
