Posted: Tuesday 14 October 08, 8.06am GMT

The British Council in Istanbul is currently seeking mentors for the 'Future is Brighter' (Gelecek Daha Net) social entrepreneurship project. 'Future is Brighter' is an online experience and knowledge-sharing platform using innovative and interactive methods.

The project developed by Mikado Consulting enables private sector companies, non-profit organizations, academic institutions and individuals meet for social benefit.

They have developed a programme of e-mentoring to guide university students in their career planning by getting them together with esteemed and successful business people from different professions and sectors.

‘Future is Brighter’ has a sound and strong database where hundreds of inscribed young people are waiting for their mentors to share knowledge with. Through this module those young people can reach real life experiences without any time and space restriction.

Mikado matches mentors with students according to the mentoring topic and suitable time that fits both sides. 1-hour long talks are conducted similar to MSN chat format, through GDN website: Appointments are set and meeting schedule and password are provided both to mentors and students. All talks are watched and archived by Mikado team and copies of the talks are sent to both sides right after the talks terminate.

Terms and conditions of mentorship are described within the application form. The mentor application form can be reached from .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) from Mikado.
