This year’s 3rd International CSR Summit held last 5 and 6 September at the Grand Waterfront Copthorne Hotel was a notable success with around 350 attendees from various capacities. It featured extended discussions on a wide range of topics covering interesting repartee and dialogue from the floor.

Prof. Simon Tay, Vice President of Singapore Compact welcomed the delegates and the Guest of Honor, Mr S Iswaran, Minister for the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade & Industry.

Prof. Tay highlighted the Singapore Compact’s progress with growing membership over the past 2 years and higher take-up of CSR practices as well as the increasing signs of interest from the academic student community.

Mr Iswaran delivered thoughtful insights on the factors leading to the growing global CSR movement, with specific sustainable development targets by many countries. This has in turn brought greater attention to CSR by businesses and other diverse stakeholders, and underscored the relevance of CSR as part of managerial accountability and corporate strategy in both developing and developed economies.
