In 2014 Sodalitas “From School to Work” programme will reach 6,000 students

Posted: Wednesday 22 January 14, 4.40pm GMT

At the end of 2013, Fondazione Sodalitas’ "From School to Work" programme was endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education as an initiative strongly effective in reducing skills gap and fostering youth employability.

In 2014 From School to Work will reach 6,000 students and 200 high schools in 9 out 20 Italian Regions.

Managers coming from 31 companies will be actively involved in the development of training courses which will provide young people with essential skills to find a job. They will also be involved in 1-to-1 mentoring and coaching approaches which will give students an effective and experience-based support.

From School to Work will also continue to test innovative long-term partnerships by giving companies the opportunity to “adopt a school” and becoming a strategic partner of high schools. These partnerships with the private sector help the schools to continuously enrich their offer to better prepare students to their professional future.

School adoption was already successfully tested by 2 out of 93 member companies of Fondazione Sodalitas: UBS and WIND.
