Posted: Monday 21 December 15, 12.10pm GMT

Iberdrola and the Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad, a Spanish business association promoting responsible business, with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, has launched the '1st International Energy Cooperation Awards'.

The award will recognise, in three different categories, the most salient active initiatives undertaken by private companies, public administrations and the third sector towards achieving universal access to energy.

Assessment of the applications will be carried out by a jury of renowned corporate and institutional experts in the field. In order to evaluate the projects, the jury will take into consideration the following:

  • The impact and the value creation of each initiative;

  • The project’s contribution to sustainable development;

  • The consistency and long-term duration;

  • The replicability of its model;

  • The innovative character;

  • The international scope;

  • The existence of clear objectives and monitoring indicators.

An award will be granted to the winner of each category by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation at a public ceremony taking place in the last quarter of the year.

Applications for this year are now closed.
