Give & Gain Day 2016 is here!

Give & Gain Day 2016 takes place from 9th to 20th May. We have 13 international partners from our CSR360 Global Partner Network taking part this year with some really interesting activities planned.

Some of our partners have already begun delivering their activities including, PROhumana, our Chilean partner who was the first to deliver Give & Gain Day this year on 4th May. In partnership with Cultiva, a non for profit organisation focused on environmental issues, PROhumana delivered a project called ‘Clean-up Day’ with the aim of preventing fires in the Renca community in Santiago, Chile. More than 100 students from across the community took part in this, together with the neighbourhood council, CONAF, Triciclos and members of the PROhumana Network. Together they collected more than 500 kilograms of waste. Well done PROHumana!

Meanwhile, Forética in Spain have planned the “International Corporate Volunteer Week” between the 17th and 24th of May. During their week of events, the main focus will be on issues around social exclusion of disabled people, unemployment and environmental activities. They are expecting to have around 100 community projects and 1,000 volunteers over the course of the week. They are expecting support from businesses including; Johnson&Johnson and Janssen as well as the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, Fundación Hazloposible, and Atresmedia who are their media partner. Business for Society, our CSR360 Global Partner Network in Czech Republic, will be running 123 community projects throughout all Czech regions on 13th May, called ‘Every Little Help Counts’, expected to benefit the lives of 330,000 local people. One example of an activity they are delivering involves supporting disabled people to tap into the open job market in collaboration with a personnel agency Personal Connect.Click here to read more.

IMS Luxembourg this year are hosting Give & Gain Day on 12th May, which coincides with their Diversity Day and hence their activities focus on diversity issues. At the moment, they have organised seven initiatives including a graffiti workshop supervised by Talbot, a Syrian artist living in Luxembourg. The activity will take place at Hariko, a creative space that enables disadvantaged youngsters to access different artistic and cultural expressions. Click here to read more.

Other partner activities include:

Özel Sektör Gönüllüleri Derneği (ÖSGD), in Turkey who have organised different activities between 9th and 15th of May such as, planting trees, reading and writing workshop with creative drama for children, earthquake awareness activity, etc.

• The Dubai Chamber, in Dubai the 19th of May have planned 31 community projects, some of them are: give a Ghaf tree planting programme, painting with artists with disabilities, site visit for students, workshops with children with disabilities, etc. Click here to read more.

Fundación S2M, in Ecuador will be painting Gonzalo Cordero Crespo School, located in ´la Colmena’ neighbourhood in Quito. The school provides education to 628 low income children and youngsters, so that they do not have to travel long distances in order to continue studying. On 15th May the volunteers from Fundación S2M, local community, parents and corporates partners from the foundation will be joining their efforts to paint the school.

GRACE, in Portugal have organised Give&Gain Day in three different locations: Lisbon, Oporto and Faro on 14th May. The main focus of the activities is building and maintaining community vegetable gardens, with raising awareness activities and workshops for healthy eating.

The National Volunteer Centre of Hungary (ÖKA) have planned their corporate volunteer programme at The National Botanical Garden in Vácrátót on 20th May. They are expecting to have over 100 volunteers from 6 different multinational companies. Some of the activities include gardening, painting the wooden bridges, outdoor signs, doors, etc. of the installation. Click here to read more.
