Fundahrse co-sponsors a regional literacy congress in Honduras

The Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility (Fundahrse), together with the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) and the Secretary of Education and the Municipal Government of San Pedro Sula, co-sponsored a Regional Congress of Literacies “From writing to digital” which took place in the University of San Pedro (USAP).

The purpose of the congress was to make the people aware of the importance of writing and of digital literacy and its challenges. Its aims was also to boost the National Literacy and Basic Education Program and analyse the new relations between the basic education and the new Information and communications technology (ICT).

International experts like Doctor Sung Lee, president of Instituto de Aprendizaje a lo Largo de la Vida in South Korea; Luis Scasso, general manager of Cooperation and Continuing Education of OEI in Paraguay; and Ana María Reyes from OPSA Group, attended the congress.

The attendants discussed the challenges of the writing and digital literacy; the new information and communications technology in education; the corporative social responsibility and the education of young adults.
