Samsung and Glasswing International bring technology to public schools in Central America to engage teachers with their students.

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in technology and Glasswing International, nonprofit organisation, launched Smart School in Central America; an integrated platform that helps teachers to develop an interactive learning environment with their students.

Samsung Smart School, started in Costa Rica with the opening of the first two digital classrooms in Central America and the Caribbean. “With Samsung Smart School, Samsung continues to strengthen as a responsible company committed to society, designing educational projects that seek to transform the lives of young students by offering the most innovative technology tools to enhance their integral development” said Silvia Cuevas, CSR Manager for Samsung Electronics Latin America.

The Smart School programme enables teachers to give interactive lessons and group activities through a Smart TV, equipped with special features to share texts and images in real time. Inside a Digital Classroom, students will use the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to receive and share notes and themes developed in class, providing a more direct communication with their teachers. The software will allow them to perform tests, surveys, activities, support materials, among others.

Smart School is part of Samsung’s vision: Inspire the World, Create the Future, so that the project, which takes place at the moment in Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua, will soon be expanded to other countries in Central America. The project will be launch in Guatemala on May 2014.
