The ENGAGE campaign which aims to improve and increase the quality and quantity of employee volunteering internationally is to launch two new projects in Brussels and Johannesburg this March. Business in the Community which runs the secretariat of ENGAGE is working with CAF Southern Africa and Business and Society Belgium to launch the projects which will bring companies together in collaboration to address issues facing these diverse cities.
ENGAGE Key Cities, first launched in 2005 is now running in 14 cities worldwide including Central and Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Santiago de Chile and Dubai. Projects vary from location to location and come in the form of one day action days, where the volume of activity is large, to longer term skills-based projects spanning over a year. The projects, designed and implemented by the participating companies and are supported by community partners, all of which are members of the CSR360 network.
Both the Brussels meeting – 11th March – and the Johannesburg meeting – 16th March – invites companies to a free workshop on Employee Volunteering and the chance to exchange their experiences with like minded businesses. Exciting potential projects will be explored and discussed with the aim of tackling key social issues of the city.
