CSR MarketPlace takes place in Warsaw

28 companies and organizations have presented their practices in the domain of corporate social responsibility during CSR MarketPlace chich took place on October 20th in Warsaw. The event was organized by Responsible Business Forum and featured thematic seminars, a lecture by an expert from the UK and many other initiatives.

“MarketPlace is an open form of presenting company’s responsible practices. It offers a possibility to meet with a wide group of stakeholders and enables to engage in direct dialogue. We are very happy that more and more companies are engaging in responsible practices in various areas and we hope that corporate social responsibility will become a standard form of conducting a business” said Mirella Panek-Owsiańska, President of the Responsible Business Forum.

  • Tesco PolskaFive NGOs that have won a contest for the practices of partnership with business partners have also presented their practices.

Thematic seminars during MarketPlace covered following topics: responsible utilization and recycling, responsible sourcing of natural resources, responsible consumption and sustainable infrastructural investment. John Grant, expert in sustainable marketing, gave a lecture “Green Marketing and sustainable innovation” which was available to watch online.

MarketPlace participants as well as Internet users voted for the best practice presented during the event. Participants chose ex aqeuo: “Good Contract” by Association of Polish Consumers and “HOPE Volunteers” by Nutricia Polska. According to Internauts the best pracitce was also “Good Contract”.

Other initiatives that took place during the MarketPlace included:

  • Presentation of research results regarding responsible supply chain conducted by Responsible Business Forum and IIBR/Gemius SA
  • Screening of a “Story of Stuff” movie about global system of production and consumption
  • Gathering of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste
