Posted: Tuesday 8 August 17, 10.15am GMT

On the 19th May, 806 volunteers from 40 companies got involved in 90 community projects around different cities of Czech Republic.

Give & Gain, is now a tradition in the Czech Republic. Employee volunteering programmes are a core pillar of CSR strategy for Business for Society, who have organised Give & Gain for 9 years, making it the most popular employee volunteering event of the year. Collaborating with hundreds of NGOs to organise activities that will assist and support the community, they are able to congregate staff of numerous companies to create lasting impact in society.

For Give & Gain this year, Business for Society organised multiple activities in all Czech regions under the motto ‘Together and responsibly’. The main activity consisted of assisting older people in residential care. Volunteers met with residents and accompanied them in their daily routine, on some occasions a cultural visit was organised to the cinema, theatre or an exhibition.

Business for Society also organised activities with children, disadvantages people and the environment. Many of the volunteers supported NGOs by cleaning protected places like Prokopské udoli (Prokop´s Valley) or the historical district of Prague 10, Na Slatinách, helping to renovate local gardens and parks for spring.
