Business in the Community Ireland is publishing an interactive guide for community and voluntary groups entitled “Communities and Business Working Together” which is sponsored by Diageo Ireland and Ulster Bank.
This free publication will be available from the 27th April 2010 on their website www.bitc.ie.
The key objective of the guide is to encourage community groups to engage with business in the area of non-financial business support such as skills, manpower and resources rather than cash.
The guide features 5 videos of community partnerships in action. These case studies highlight the benefits of successful partnerships from the perspective of business, employees and community representatives. BITCI member companies include: Deloitte, Diageo Ireland, Janssen, 02 and Ulster Bank. Also included is a toolkit and fact sheet to help community groups identify their needs for business support and prepare a good written proposal. The launch hosted by Diageo Ireland will take place at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin 8 on the 27th April.
