Argentina has been participating in Give & Gain for 5 years

Fundacion Compromiso, thanks to the sponsorship of Cablevisión-Fibertel and the support of numerous companies and organizations, has organised the 5th Give & Gain event as part of their International Week of Corporate Volunteering in Argentina.

Give & Gain is a global movement that fosters corporate volunteering as a key tool for community investment within the CSR and Sustainability strategy of organizations. In Argentina, it was carried out by Fundación Compromiso during the week of 26 May to 2 June. 20 companies and organizations participated in a total of 34 activities in 9 provinces: Buenos Aires, CABA, Córdoba, Chaco, Jujuy, Mendoza, Salta, Santa Fe and Tucumán.

The national communications company Cablevisión-Fibertel sponsored Give & Gain, while Andreani the engineering company and Metrovías a transport company joined in as key supports. Other companies and organizations reported activities in their own way including Adecco, AIESEC, Comafi Bank, Banco Galicia, Carrefour, Professional Public Relations Council, ESET Latin America, EY, Fundación Caminando Juntos, GIRE, Newsan Group, Mercedes Benz, Prudential Seguros, SC Johnson & Son, Scienza and UNICEF.

Numerous Institutional Partners also supported Give & Gain: CEADS, UCES, Argentine Marketing Association, AMIA, GDFE, FEDEFA and Provincial Directorate of CSR – Province of Buenos Aires. While the following media partners helped spread the initiative: La Nación Foundation, Innovate Sustainability, National Radio, Third Sector Magazine, RSE News, Three Commandments and La Razón.

This year, in Argentina, a total of 1,370 volunteers gave 5,861 hours, directly benefiting 4,263 people as part of Give & Gain. The most popular themes were: education, environment and young people. Some of the activities chosen by companies and organizations were: school support workshops, agro-ecological garden work, blood donation, food collection and classification, strengthening of social organizations and improvement of educational facilities, among others.

On 14 June, the main results and learnings of the 5th International Corporate Volunteer Week in Argentina were presented at the closing breakfast held by Fundación Compromiso and the Center for Social Innovation of the University of San Andrés (UdeSA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During this event Maria-Jose Subiela, Head of Strategic Advice and Solutions at Business in the Community presented virtually on ‘ The Impact of Corporate Volunteering on the Sustainability Strategy of Companies’ and as the event came to a close people in the room did a ‘collaborative dynamic’ where they shared ideas, good practices and challenges and contributed to create a final report on the activities developed during Give & Gain.
