The aim of the National Volunteer Centre (ÖKA) is to enable more and more Hungarian firms to be able to realise original volunteer programmes that match with the company's CSR strategy.
ÖKA has provided this CSR service since 2004. Since then we have organised over 200 programmes for more than 6000 volunteers and participants all over Hungary. We develop our corporate volunteer programmes based on the needs of both the host organization and the company as the corporate volunteer programme should always have direct and indirect benefits for the company and the hosting organisation itself.
We would like to highlight one of our recent programmes organised this year for Young & Rubicam Brands.
On 6 July 2012, the employees of Young & Rubicam Brands woke up to an exciting Friday morning. This task for the day was to work together with adults with physical or mental disabilities in Bercel. The group had to repair the Harmony Rehabilitation Institute’s benches, to paint and renovate the fence, railings and covered hammocks and garden houses in order to enable the cared to use the institution’s park as well. Harmony Rehabilitation Institute and Care Home provides home for 110 adults with adults with physical or mental disabilities and ensures nursing care and rehabilitation for them.
The advertising agency has prior experience in volunteering. Last year, in collaboration with ÖKA, they decorated and renovated the outdoor toys of a kindergarten in an underprivileged village community. The project this year is a very different initiative and environment. We hope that this opportunity not only enriched the experiences of the participants, but also encourages others to volunteer.
