One little red flower, means one volunteer engagement. Dec. 4th, 2009, more than 150 participants from companies signed their names on the board of Corporate Volunteer Engagement. At the same time, one child from Chunlei Migrant Children School gave each person who signed up a red paper flower. In order to promote more companies to support Employee Volunteer Programs (EVP), Fuping Development Institute and the CSR360 Global Partner Network hosted the 2009 Corporate Volunteer International Forum on the eve of the 24th International Volunteer Day.

The participants came from companies, NGOs and media and much valuable information was shared about EVP. Delegates heard about the following initiatives: 3 Paid Volunteer Days (Microsoft China); volunteer matching donation system (CISCO China); The idea of Celebrating a companies’ Anniversary via organizing staff volunteering (TICO, one Chinese private company) and assisting the disabled with dream visits (British American Tobacco China).
The exhibition of corporate volunteering work was open at the same time of the forum. Volunteering photos, recruitment posters, unified uniforms, grateful cards… these items showed the visitors the difference the volunteers have made.
CSR network was founded by the Fuping Development Institute in 2005. This program aims to promote corporate philanthropy through formulating philanthropic strategy, promoting employee participation, encouraging products and second-hand office equipment donations, building a platform for exchanging ideas and practices among corporations and the public, implementing innovative corporate philanthropy practices, raising the effectiveness of philanthropic efforts, and corporate philanthropy professionalization.
