What is RSS?
You can get the latest headlines as soon as they are published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from, using a web-based newsreader such as Bloglines. Sure, sometimes feeds look a bit raw, but use a newsreader and it’ll all make sense. Most newsreaders will alert you each time updates are found.
The Firefox browser will invite you to add the RSS Feed to its built-in Live Bookmarks feature.
Numerous desktop applications are also available for both Mac and PC.

A feed reader is a piece of software that checks websites that you’ve subscribed to for updates and allows you to read them. Feed readers come in many different shapes and sizes, both as downloadable software and as software that is accessed within a browser.
