The Business and Poverty Leadership Programme offers a unique opportunity for business leaders to understand the risks and opportunities of working in emerging developing countries and emerging economies. The Programme is widely recognised as the pre-eminent forum for senior leaders who seek guidance and inspiration to develop a new generation of business that creates more equitable wealth.
The Programme, established in 2006, provides intensive 3-day seminars combining world-class knowledge and expertise with practical case-studies, facilitated peer-learning and strong supportive networks for action. Each seminar attracts an exceptional range of senior leaders from business, academia, politics, NGOs and public service from around the world representing diverse sectors. Following the seminar, participants become alumni of the Cambridge Sustainability Network, joining over 3,000 influential leaders representing over 600 organisations and from more than 60 countries with the potential to influence the debate at corporate, public and political levels.
The 3-day seminar is designed for delegates from industries whose work has a direct interface with the public in developing countries and emerging economies and where a strong social licence to operate is essential for their business. It focuses on innovative approachesInclusive Business to voluntary co-regulation, community engagement, community beneficiation, designing pro-poor supply chains and supporting small scale entrepreneurs.
